Duties and responsibilities: Teaching classes of over 25 students; developing the
Syllabus and the assignments for each class; Tasks include: giving lectures,
tools demonstrations, Slides and Power Point presentations. Arrange field and
Gallery visits. Structured and participated in various critiques with students
from beginning to graduate level. Worked closely with students in the graduate
program at San Diego State University, including independent studies.
Additional experience: Have participated in several Exhibitions, including
Solo, Juried, Invitational shows and competitions. Such as, “Here Not There”
curated exhibit at MCASD in La Jolla (2010). “Measured Resistance”, Solo
exhibition at Luis de Jesus-Seminal Projects Gallery, Downtown, San Diego 2009.
The Show was reviewed by Robert Pincus, Art critic for the San Diego Union
Tribune. Also, have received awards, such as: The San Diego Art Prize 2007 by
The San Diego Artists Network, as Emerging Artist, and exhibited in a solo show
with artist Ernest Silva at the L St. Gallery, Downtown; And in the exhibit
Innocence is Questionable at the California Center for the Arts, Escondido
2008.
Work on various public art projects. In 2010 with SD
Space 4 Arts - affordable artist and work live studios / art center, located in
East Village. Collaborated on InSite 97, with the Border art workshop at
Maclovio Rojas community at El Florido, Tijuana, Mexico. Work with the group
from 1997 to 2000, bringing attention to social issues through art. Tasks included the development and
construction of a community center, teaching kids to paint murals in order to
beautify and foster pride in their community.
